ARTreach Studio in Katy offers free art classes to children and adults in need
ARTreach has a studio in Katy thanks to a donation from art business owner Tess Thornton of Ceramics by Tess. Tess has donated over 400 square feet of her business space located in the Times Square Shopping Center off Grand Parkway to ARTreach so the organization can host special workshops, camps and free art classes for the community. Many new programs are now being offered that serve the elderly, special needs groups at the new ARTreach Studio. The studio programs include a range of ARTreach professional workshops including ceramics and clay, drawing and painting.
ARTreach Studio Programs are providing an art adventure for senior citizens, and are scheduled as weekly field trips for assisted living communities all over Katy. “The new programs are designed to help break the barriers associated making new friends and building new relationships, “We see good things happen in the Studio”, says Shannon Prejean Director of Sunrise Assisted Living Community in Cinco Ranch, “our residents look forward to the field trip and benefit greatly from each experience.” Shannon Prejean also serves as an advisor to ARTreach board of directors.
