Vision
ARTreach recognizes the essential role the arts play in enhancing the lives of people in the community, and the impact the arts have on a child’s education and successful future. We believe that a thriving community ensures that its residents, and all children have access to an array of performing and visual arts education, opportunities and events that will contribute to overall development, health, and improved quality of life.
Mission
The ARTreach mission is to support the development and delivery of quality art programs benefitting underserved populations; including children at risk, children and adults with special needs, senior citizens, fragile elderly and the disabled. We work with artists and volunteers to deliver programs of the highest standards to promoting artistic integrity, strong capabilities and impact in the field. We work in partnership with non-profit groups, social service agencies, school districts, the community and the state to support expanded outreach targeting neglected populations.
We work towards achieving our mission by focusing on three areas of strategic action:
- Bring high quality art-related programs and services to the underprivileged and the underserved populations in the tri-county area of Katy, Texas, Harris, Waller and Fort Bend County area targeting: children at risk; troubled youth; children and adults with special needs; senior citzens and the elderly. We measure the impact and document outcomes to support sustained funding.
- Provide an array of performing and visual arts events and community presentations that contribute to improving the quality of life for residents in underserved communities.
- Advocate for State of Texas policy developments that increase the visibility and stability of the arts and arts education in Texas thereby enhancing the education curriculum and overall quality of life.
- Serve as a nationally recognized resource sharing organization with projects designed and outcomes measured to promote expanding outreach serving neglected populations.
About ARTreach
ARTreach is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides mentoring and art-related programs to a growing population of children at risk and to others in need. We develop unique programs that teach expressive arts, and that also help individuals develop a sense of self worth. These programs introduce, and provide an opportunity to practice, life skills that can help address issues such as student apathy, social dysfunction, grief, drug abuse awareness and prevention, health and recovery.
ARTreach recruits volunteers and trains professional teaching artists to manage and staff programs. We also secure the necessary funding to deliver a range of quality art, drama, music and dance programs to under-served communities and neglected populations that may not otherwise experience the arts as a part of the lives. Our organization leverages its core strengths by establishing active partnerships with local non-profits serving low income populations, social service organizations, juvenile probation departments and independent school districts. ARTreach also utilizes resources available through other non profit art, theater and music organizations, plus local art businesses, to augment our art and educational outreach services.
