Katys own master designer and quilter, Martha DeLeonardis of Cinco Ranch has been selected as one of the 40 finalists across the world to participate in an exhibit showcased at this years International Quilt Festival being held in Houston, Texas at the George R Brown Convention Center on October 30-Nov 2, 2008. Her quilt titled HoustonI think we have a Quilter will be a featured star in The Skys the Limit Exhibition and Gallery.

Bringing hope, inspiration and art to children at risk
Katy, TX - ARTreach, a non profit art and educational outreach organization in Katy, Texas announces a partnership with Young Audiences of Houston to expand programs serving Katy and the Greater Fort Bend and Harris County area. As an outreach and advocacy organization, ARTreach has been focusing their attention on evaluating the impact the arts can have on children at risk for over five years, their work has gained national attention and the interest from a growing number of social service and welfare agencies serving children at risk.

|  | ARTreach pilots new programs
Katy, Texas Sept. 24, 2008 - ARTreach has successfully piloted a series of percussion-based music programs designed by professional musician and teaching artist Dan Egger-Belandria of Austin, Texas. Dans unique program is titled Rhythm Journey and supports early childhood development, social skills development, and education. ARTreach was able to bring this talented teaching artist to Katy to conduct his workshops for free and for children and adults who would not otherwise be given an opportunity to experience the arts in this unique capacity. ARTreach implemented the pilots in order to measure the impact this type of art programming has on cognitive and development skills.
